Bach And His Era
🎵The Code of Eternity🎵
The secrets of the universe are hidden in Bach’s music 🔍. Each fugue is a mathematical formula of beauty, each prelude—a coded message from the past to the future.
What if music is the language in which God speaks to people? What if the answers to questions we have not yet learned to ask are concealed in the interweaving of melodies?
Tonight, the mysteries will be revealed. A legendary professor from the Juilliard School will guide you through the labyrinths of Bach’s genius. You will hear how the composer inscribed his own name into the very fabric of music, how polyphony becomes philosophy.
And at the end... a mystery guest 🎭 will remove their mask, and Bach’s music will sound as you have never heard it before.
One night. Three centuries. An infinity of 🎵discoveries🎵.
What is the secret behind the centuries-long popularity of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music?
Did you know that Bach’s music is full of mathematical formulas, equations, anagrams, and coded messages? How did Bach encode his own name into the main theme of a fugue? How does the polyphonic fabric of Bach’s music blend perfectly with its harmonic foundation?
These and many other questions will be answered at the unique lecture-concert “Bach and His Time,” presented by the legendary violinist and educator, Professor Lewis Kaplan of the Juilliard School in New York. Joining Professor Kaplan in exploring Bach’s secrets will be festival artists:
American piano virtuoso, Artistic Director of the “In Embrace of Classics” Festival, Michael Bulychev-Okser.
Young prodigy from America, 13-year-old pianist and organist Alisa Sorochan, also representing Ukraine.
Violin virtuoso from China, Xing Bai.
And a specially invited mystery guest, one of the most popular musicians of our time. He will remove his mask only after performing a work by Bach.
